Does Size Really A Big Deal?

Have you seen the movie, MY BIG LOVE starring Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby as is directed by Jade Castro? During that time, I made a review about that entry on my multiply. (*please check it out if you want to*)

If you're wondering what it is... Well, it's almost the same story of what you can see in the movie, JUST FRIENDS starring Ryan Reynolds.

You see, Macky (*Sam Milby*) is a BIG guy, a pastry chef who has a BIG crush on a young socialite columnist named Nina (*Kristine Hermosa*). They were chat mates and they arranged themselves a date. When it was time for them to meet, Nina was surprised to see that her date was a clumsy 300 lbs - guy. Embarrassed, Macky hired Aira (*Toni Gonzaga*), the personal trainer of Nina, as his personal trainer and to help him lose some weight so that he could impress Nina. Along the way, the 2 developed feelings/affection for each other. But then, their feelings should be set aside because Aira has a job offering abroad and she has to accept it for she's the one working for her family. After a couple of years, the fat guy Macky is now one of the most famous hottie in town. When Aira got back from abroad, she had to meet Macky. She was shocked at the drastic change Macky had undergone. Her feelings towards him got even more stronger only to find out that Nina and Macky are now together and are engaged. At the end, Macky realized that she loves Aira, the woman who loved him despite his extra size and they got together leaving Nina in the scene.

That's my synopsis.
At first, I thought this movie was great because it's about a fat boy falling in love and that he's willing to do everything just to impress the girl of his dreams only to turn out that the girl of his dreams isn't the right girl for him. At first, I thought it could be an inspiration for me to really shed off some extra baggage. Thinking that it's really possible to really get off the extra weight, especially when you work on it. But the issue is SIZE DISCRIMINATION. Is size really an issue??? I guess it is... I really know the feeling when you love someone but that someone couldn't love you back because of what you look (size, face, personality and anything on the surface). And it's not good... You really feel sorry for yourself

Here's my current outlook on the movie:

"I have to change my view on this movie. Yes, at first I thought, this movie is something that i can associate myself. but really... something i thought that could at least lessen the discrimination against fat/obese people. but who am i kidding? really... the movie never gives fat/obese people a chance of who they really are. You noticed that at the end of the movie, the male character changes from fatty to hottie right? yes, maybe it's giving us something to think about that if we try to change ourselves, maybe we find some happiness that we really wanted. but what about those people who, even with a lot of exercise, even though they're not lazy, are still fat? would they still have a chance of meeting someone who would accept who they are??? I've been reading some text, that there are really people that are genetically obese...that no matter what they do, they are what they are....

But still... the movie was good.
Here are some lines from the movie and the trailer:

"When you change your looks, should it also change the beat of your heart?"
"Alam mo ba yung pakiramdam ng hindi ka mahalin ng taong mahal mo?" (*Do you know the feeling that you're not love by the person you love?*)
